Chevrolet Nova 1974 Description
Up for sale is a nice low mileage 1974 Nova with P/S and very rare factory A/C,restored enough to cruise in and have heads turn. This was purchased as a father son project that we intended to create a SS clone from (Has SS rims). Bought 11/2009 with only 66,045 actual miles but needed Quarter panels. It now has only 66,212 miles and we drove on road in 2015 with classic insurance and historical plates and heads did turn as we drove by. But as you can see we didn't drive much only 167 miles so far. We decided to keep the restoration generic just in case my son wanted to sell which now is the case. He is in college and needs the money for that. By hooking a single Thrush muffler to the original Y pipe from the original exhaust manifold a buyer can make the exhaust system as they want and My friends are always arguing who's exhaust system is better. By putting covers on original seats the same is accomplished, it's pretty and nice that way yet buyer can still do a SS bucket seat center console car. We painted black high quality base coat clear coat because although our final color was going to be hugger orange we didn't want just any paint on the car. Black shows imperfections so after driving, as is,(because as is is shiny and nice). Later we could make perfect and repaint but now that is buyer's option. We installed new subframe mounts it has rear air shocks but they hold for apx 24 hrs new ones are like $70. Also from radiator to transmission installed new lines Making Clone to SS would be easy A few badges fenders, trunk on grill and on steering wheel. Also because the car came equipped with a 350 V8 350 automatic transmission bang SS clone. We installed a 4 barrel intake manifold then put a 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor on it. Installed a new chrome high volume low pressure fuel pump and new fuel line back to fuel tank. Also created access cover in the trunk to access fuel line and gage if needed in future.. Left and right lower quarters from tail into door jams have been replaced. The radiator support and rear light panel are ok as cruiser but not as $20,000 SS car. The brakes are stock drum which I replaced a rear cylinder but looks like it may need other side since back reservoir of master cylinder goes low after like 3 days yet I don't see leak on ground, $10 part at Autozone. All interior molding will be in trunk, headliner is down but have roll of black perforated liner I will include. We also wanted to buy 1972 bumper mounts so we could move bumpers close to body and do away with bumper shocks then paint to match car color. Something new owner can do, just an idea that does away with a piece in front and back bumpers and makes a cleaner look. I just saw on eBay a 1972 Nova that was said to be a SS Clone because they put those badges on that had front bench seat and speedo on that ripped seat needing both Quarters repaired with no engine or transmission and it sold for $5300 on 10/13/16,ours is clean and can be anything you want or drive as is for only a little more money .
Happy bidding and remmember,All in All .car is a head turner but needs to be driven, wants to be driven by you.
