Chevrolet Astro 1987 Description
1987 Astro Van1984 low mileage (40k) long block1991 upper intake (tuned port inj) including PCM with Jims Performance chip.Brand new ceramic shorty headers700r4 transAluminum wheelsWide radials in back3.08 open rear but 3.08 posi ring and pinion included.Lowered (rides beautiful)Needs work, not quite road worthyVan needs to be finishedI shortened the corvette wiring harness so there is a few hours worth of soldering to do. Easy yet consuming or you can get a painless wiring harness (which to me is unnecessary). Hook up driveshaft, exhaust needed, already has fresh oil and filter, antifreeze, trans filter, and brand new chrome trans pan. I did not add fluid to the trans (I will include) because the trans needs to be backed out and torque converter pushed in further. Must of jarred the converter loose when I lifted the trans into place. I couldn't get the third t.c. bolt in. Not a big deal.
I don't have an air filter or a/c bracket which is easy to locate. I do have a brand new delete pulley.
I use to drive this van and I will even include the 4.3 V-6 that was in it with 71k miles. Ran great, just wanted a faster van.
There's van are the cheapest and easiest swaps ever.
The interior has two bucket seats up front and a bench seat in back, way back. Carpet is actually really nice just needs to be cleaned since the van hasn't been on the road since November 2015. It's still plated and insured. Black tint all the way around on windows. Headliner is there but sagging.
99.1% of everything is there. Same driveshaft. Brakes are good. Brand new gauges that where hooked up when the V6 was in it.
There is rust on the rockers that broke through. Very repairable. Van was painted in 1999 and cost $15,000. There is NO decals. Air brushed accents. The paint however shows stress from sitting in a shop forever. Still looks nice.
So overall you will need to do some work before you can drive this old school head turner. I tried to list everything I could remember.
