For sale is my 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Turbo 4 speed. Perfect for a restoration project! This is a great car and I have had ZERO reliability issues since I have had it on the road. I am not afraid to drive it anywhere. I live 1 hour from the college I commute to and have absolutely no worries driving it there and back.
Heat works, AM radio and 8 track player works. All lights and signals work. All guages work except speedometer. Speedo does work but the cable broke a couple months ago. Starts great, runs and idles great. Shifting is very smooth. See the youtube videos to watch it drive/shift.
We have meticulously went through every part of the car to ensure reliability and safety as I do drive it often! Mechanically the car has no issues except for some oil leaks. But hey, it’s a corvair, they just leak!
This vehicle was parked in a garage in 1990 and forgotten about until 2011. To my knowledge it has right at 100,000 original miles. I have 95% of the chrome. Also have the back bumper. I do not have the original exhaust.
There is no major rust at all. The spots on the car is where there was some surface rust and it was primered and spotted to prevent future rust. The floor pans were replaced a long time ago. The back right floor has a small hole. The trunk hole is where someone tried to tow it by the drain hole, not rust.
The engine code is YR. Most sources say that is a 1962 engine, some say 1962-1964. I don’t have any “spyder” emblems with the car either. I had some members of a corvair club look at it and they thought it was a factory turbo. I had a guy called “the corvair man” look at it and he said that he was pretty sure it has a 1962 engine and that if it wasn’t a factory turbo its the best conversion he has seen. So I cannot 100% say if it is a factory turbo or not.
All the parts I got from Clarks corvair except the convertible top. I could prob have them send me an inventory of my account but here are the major things:
-Brand new Kee top with 8 year warranty!!!
-Rebuilt Carb
-Rebuilt Turbo
-Complete fluid change trans, diff, brakes, etc
-All new brake lines
-All new wheel cylinders
-New alternator
-New distributor cap and rotor
-Spark plug wires and plugs
-New rear tail light lenses, and all new signal light lenses (very expensive!)
-Brand new tires
-New fuel tank
Any question feel free to send me a message or I’ll be glad to speak on the phone. Below are links to youtube of the car running and more pictures.
