Chevrolet Impala 1964 Description
Relisting due to buyer non payment. Selling my 1964 Chevy Impala SS, VIN: 41447S252669 (style 1447SL17602) with the following factory items:New rebuilt 283 engine (now with a 4 BBL) and have the original 2 BBL manifold with a new 2 BBL Rochester carburator and air cleaner and the original oil canister with filter, rebuilt power glide transmission, Power Steerin, Power Brakes, deluxe air conditioning with heater, front seat belts, soft Ray tinted windows (all), deluxe steering wheel, Super Sport package with good SS hubcaps and mounted Cooper Cobra GT 14 inch tires on pacer supreme rims, original push button AM radio (works with push buttons only and with rear antenna, original front and rear speaker that work, two speed wipers and washer ( the tank, line and spray nozzles are not with car), Rear View day/night mirror, Both right and left out side mirors with chevy empleems, cigarette lighter that works, and electric clock that does not work. It comes with 4 good SS hub caps. See picture.I purchased this car from seller in Wallingford KY with body off restoration and new interior completed 2008. The car is now clear coat Candy Red. 936 white, was the original color exterior paint and Trim 815 is Black. The seats are redone along with carpet, head liner that has no wear or tears. The only item that a buyer may want to redo is the glove box in the console, the cover is a little worn and the light does not work along with the ceiling light on drivers side does not work, and the plastic console shifter plate needs to be replaced. On the outside, the trim is exceptional. No dents, scratches and inserts are like new along with the bumpers. The paint is getting a couple little bubbles, passenger side in front of the rear wheel well and scratch on drivers side about a foot to the rear of the door and couple little cracks that you have to be within a couple feet or closer to see. The passenger side rail on top that is hard to see was not finished very well. It still shows very nice and a lot of thumbs up and head turning when driving. I was told by the seller in KY that the body was off for 3 years to do.When I purchased the car through E Bay, end of Sep 2013, it was listed as needing nothing. I could not drive it the fall of 2013 as the seller messed up the title and took 45 days to correct so it was not until May, 2014 that I found out in 100 miles, it took 2 quarts of oil, tranny and rear end whined and the air condition compressor, POA valve and hole in line did not hold freon and was not close to working as stated by seller.. Well, about $ 13-14,000 dollars later since 1 May 2014, I have had the following done: 283 completely rebuilt with about 1700 miles on it, thus mileage is 1700. The 283 still has the original canister for the paper filter. 283 Rebuilt engine with Hastings .040 rings, King .010 rod bearings, King Main bearings, Durabond Cam Bearings, Felpro head gaskets, Pioneer Balancer, Speed Pro 274 RV Cam, JPW HT817 lifters, Melling timing chain and gears, Melling MRP 34-8 pushrods, Melling Rocker kits, Melling valve springs, Forged steel crank. .010 Freeze plugs, valve job and new valve sears for unleaded gas with NO ethanol. plus cost of pulling and installing motor, painting motor, installing a 64 4 BBl manifold with rebuilt carb (as of May 13, 2016) from Carb X in California, New HEI distributor ( have the original with points), fuel pump, water pump, alternator, starter, Ram exhaust manifolds ( set up for fuel injection), temp sending unit, engine oil pressure switch, throttle return spring, both upper and lower 4 BBL linkage, vacuum line and clip, new battery tray and bolt, intake manifold vacuum fitting, power brake booster, threaded port, new voltage regulator, fuel tank sending unit, Speedomoter cable, 4 new MOOG springs, shocks, brake cylinders, and rear shoes (this June), ignition cylinder and switch with new keys, air/heater fan switch, triple gauge kit, axle bearings, rear end totally rebuilt and power glide transmission rebuilt by old timers who know how to rebuild them correctly, drive shaft straighten, balanced with new u joints and center bearing, idler arm, tie rod ends, power steering pump, belts, hoses, power steering gear, steering control valve, steering coupling assembly, upper heat choke tube, fuel pump to carb gas line, rear end bearings, exhaust heat riser, radiator, 2 new mufflers, (June 2016), FM converter, air condition correct style compressor, expansion valve, receiver filter dryer, new air condition hoses, AC evaporator, STV eliminator of POA valve, ( guess air condition was not charged since rebuild of car due to most of the air condition parts were bad) R134 Freon, AT modulator valve, front wheel bearings and grease caps, Chevy decals, oil dipstick and tube, oil filler tube, front end alignment, bow tie bolts, bow tie exhaust chrome tips and probably forgot some things. I worked in a auto parts store so some items was at a employee cost and also includes most payments for labor and a couple cash payments. The car runs, drives great with only a very slight hesitation when cold. Choke is set wide open. This 64 is insured through American collectors insurance at a value of $31,000.00 Which I will give a copy of for a successful buyer. The information I could find on the internet from Haggerty is as follows for current and historical:#1 Concours $63,100#2 excellent $39,700#3 Good $29,800NADA classic car valves:Low retail with Air: $14,495Average retail with Air: $32,130High Retail with Air: $52,710
