Cadillac DeVille 1960 Description
Up for auction is a barn find 1960 Cadillac Coupe DeVille that is a true survivor retaining the original paint and interior. This car has been sitting for years, and has some Florida rust but is surprisingly sold in the important areas. I have a clear florida title for the caddy.
The car hasn’t run in years but does turn over with a battery (i have keys). I’m not sure what its going to take to get it running again. The doors shut perfectly, they really close like they would've on day 1. The power windows are operational mine one rear window. The car came equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seat, auto dimming headlights, and factory air conditioning. Everything is hooked up, not everything works since the car has been sitting for more than 15 years. The car rolls pretty easily. Tires hold air minus driver rear which needs a new valve stem to be able to hold air.
The body is solid in areas but as I mentioned has florida rust, top down rust/rot. The top of the trunk below the rear window is the worst, as you can see there are holes through the sheetmetal in the back. The trunk lid and also the hood are rusted badly, which is a pretty common area for these cadillacs. The front driver floor pan is rusted through but as you can see underneath the floors and rockers are really really solid and clean, not even undercoated. The rockers are solid as a rock and so is the frame. I have a trunk key and it inserts OK but will not turn so I have no idea what the trunk looks like.
Please review all the photos, there are almost 100 posted. This would be a great car to restore, or get running and drive it as is with new tires, brakes, etc.. it has patina that can’t be replicated easily.
