Cadillac Eldorado 1975 Description
This beauty is a real head turner. Original 'Bombay Yellow' paint and black interior with black top. I really don't want to sell the car but the wife has convinced me that doing so will fit better with future plans and you know what they say: 'Happy Wife, appy Life!'.I am the third owner in 40 years. The car was originally custom built in Detroit in July of 1975 by a fellowwho owned a major Ford dealership in Baltimore. The car drove in Florida for the first few years of ownership, ut then was placed in storage back in Maryland due to the original owner's ill health. The vehicle was then purchased in a private sale by a couple of guys from Maryland. They sold it to me in July of 2012.
The car is serviced regularly. No issues with the performance. Drove the car to Poughkeepsie, ew York from my Pennsylvania home one year ago for a weekend outing. The wife was skeptical the car would make it (had to talk her into it). She changed her mind after the first 30 miles when she experienced the best ride of her life. This Cadillac cruises at 75 miles per hour on the interstate. Like driving on air. So quiet and the comfort level is incredible.
The original in dash AM/FM radio works and has an 8-track player. I don't use it, ut rather disconnected it and instead installed an AM-FM CD player in the glove compartment. Easily removable.
Car needs to be driven at least once a month. If not, eals on fluid reservoirs will contract (tranny fluid especially) and some leakage will occur. The car does have new seals and gaskets as of three years ago.
Always garage kept. Never left outside unless in service. Top is in fine shape.
As one who works in broadcasting, drove the car representing the radio station in several parades over the last few years. I'm telling you, he looks, ohs and aahs, nd comments all demonstrate the incredible beauty of this classic '75 Eldorado Convertible.
I've learned several things recently from a gentleman collector who recently examined the car as a potential buyer. He was quite taken with the well-preserved 'original' appearance of the car. He remarked on the well-maintained body and paint quality. This man offered $10,000 on the spot. I wanted time to consider it. However in the interim, he prospective buyer decided to purchase other vehicles with his available collector dollars. That was another lesson I learned.
Wasn't ready at the time to let it go, ut now it's time to offer someone else the joy of this vehicle.
All queries welcomed and promptly answered. Thanks!
