Not only was this paint combination offered for one year only, but these gorgeous colors were never offered again in any other model year. This makes this the ultimate Elegante. This is a striking color combination that takes on different characteristics in both sun and shade. Be sure to play our special video and see the colors in high definition. (see above) This car was treated to a complete high quality professional repaint in 2008 at great expense. The original paint color formulas from GM were carefully researched and matched. Even the correct dual tone pinstripe accents were added. This finish shines beautifully and the paint has tremendous "firemist" sparkle. It has traveled less than 1500 fair weather miles since. It has always been a garaged stored and pampered non-repair. The body fillers were replaced with correct New Old Stock (NOS) orignial fillers when the car was painted. The fit of the original NOS fillers is far superior to the aftermarket fiberglass pieces available today. The original wire wheels are just incredible and the wide whitewall tires are also New Old Stock (NOS) UniRoyals, impossible to find today. Recent mechanical work performed includes ; new rear brakes / fuel tank flushed & lines replaced / thermocular switch replaced / front shaft seal replaced / AC belt & compressor replaced (134a) / new idler arm / transmission mount replaced / rubber fuel line replaced / rear axle bearing seals replaced / heater hoses replaced / wiper blades The Seville was Cadillac's most expensive production car of the time and the Elegante package added almost $3,000 to the already substantial Seville price tag. As a result, relatively few of these top of the top of the line automobiles were ever sold. In fact, it is estimated that approximately 5000 Elegantes were produced in each of '78 and '79. The vast majority of these were in the most common color combination of Black / Slate. It is believed as few as 500 two-tone Cedar cars such as this were produced in 1979. Among the many Elegante only features is the beautiful painted metal roof. While the vinyl roof was standard on all regular Sevilles, the painted metal roof really shows off these cars amazing lines. The crisp clean smooth look gives these cars a very distinctive European look and the design has particularly aged well. The Elegante package included the beautiful brushed stainless full length belt line moldings as well as real wire wheels, and color-keyed bumper rub strips. This car is likely the finest first generation Cadillac Seville available anywhere in the world at this time. It absolutely stops traffic when it is taken out on the road and elicits so much attention and comments when it is parked. It is destined to be high point scoring in larger regional car shows and will certainly rate as a Cadillac LaSalle Club Senior car once shown (AACA anyone?). The interior is original and in beautiful condition throughout. The engine compartment is detailed and correct throughout. This is a well-maintained Cadillac. The 350 V8 engine runs smooth and the transmission shifts as it should. The air conditioning was recently serviced and blows ice cold. This car even has correct NOS dated AC Delco spark plug wires and an AC Delco battery. The undercarriage is in outstanding condition. This has always been a dry climate Cadillac and it shows. The trunk is in excellent condition. The soft-touch power function also works correctly as does the remote open button in the glove box.If showing the car, there is the original emergency spare and cover. However if you want to take a nice trip with this beautiful Seville, there is a full size spare tire and matching wheel, which of course is much more practical. This is your opportunity to own one of the finest of the all 1979 Cadillac Sevilles. These cars are fast appreciating collectibles and a testament to the time period in American luxury automotive history.
