Buick Other 1972 Description

This 1972 Buick GS 455 "IS FAST WITH CLASS" It was treated to a Frame Off restoration completed August 2013. The vehicle has 400 new miles.

It's a shame so many enthusiasts overlook the Buick GS when shopping for an A-body toy. Chevelle and GTO, ure, ut everyone seems to forget that the big Buicks, ike the GS455 and especially the 455 Stage 1, ade more torque than any other gasoline engine GM built until the arrival of the latest supercharged Corvette ZR1.

By 1972, ompression was down, ut the Buick was still a strong performer as the GS nailed 14-second quarter mile times at better than 100 MPH. And it did so while loaded with luxury features that were not available on its corporate cousins.

Needless to say, his GS has no rust and gorgeous Cortez Gold paint which looks fantastic on the Skylark's handsome sheet metal, hich is so perfectly proportioned that it's quite likely impossible to make it look bad.

Everything is almost like new including the fully functional and restored super cold factory AC just what you need in the summer months.

The following body and chassis items are fully restored and/or new: frame/chassis, ody, inyl top, lass, aint, hrome trim, port mirrors, oor handles, uspension, rake system, uel system, ower steering, heels, ires, The vinyl top has a few small visible air bubbles under the vinyl.

Although this Buick did not leave the factory in Fremont California with a Stage 1 engine and transmission it did receive an upgrade of a new more powerful 1971 455 CID Stage 1 engine and matching OW Stage 1 THM400 automatic transmission from the Olds W30 and only used on early 1971 Stage 1 Buick cars, The engine and transmission sport matching serial number on both is 041Z102043 and were confirmed by the Buick Stage 1 Registry as original to a 1971 Stratomist Blue GSX. The drive shaft, joints, 0 Bolt rear with Eaton 3.08 Positraction rear axel are all new and along with the engine and transmission has only about 600 miles of use.

The fuel tank, uel lines, uel pump are all new, he Stage 1 carburetor is fully restored. Even the evaporative system was restored like new. The bumpers, umper guards and license plate bracket are all re-chromed but there are some underside imperfections in the chrome. The bumper brackets and rubber bumper strips have been replaced with new rubber. All exterior lights, eflectors, tainless steel trim has been polished and detailed like new. The radiator, adiator fan, an clutch, C evaporator, brackets, lternator, tarter are new or rebuilt. The alternator is a 75 Amp unit installed to keep up with the upgraded Kenwood stereo and amplified sound system.

The following interior items are new, estored like new or re-chromed: headliner, arpet, ackage tray, ash pad, ash front, e-chromed gauge and radio bezels, e-chromed and detailed heat/AC vents, eat/AC unit, ilt steering column, epainted pillar trim, etailed rear view mirror, oor handles. The AC and heater system is fully restored and operates properly.

Everything is new or restored except the seats, onsole and door panels which are original and excellent. So you can kick back, urn on the ice cold AC and turn up that new Kenwood stereo and amplifier.

Rare, ast and beautiful, his Buick GS Stage 1 is for the discerning collector who knows the difference between a nice car and a great car. Big block A-body cars remain top-quality investments, nd Buicks are starting to see some movement after decades of living in their corporate cousins' shadows.
