Buick Skylark 1971 Description
I’m selling my grandma's Buick. She bought the car in 1971 from the original owner after only six months. The car is a 71 Skylark that's always been garage kept with zero rust.
Before she passed away she gave me the car. I am selling because I no longer have a place to store it and it is too nice of a car to be parked outside. In 2008 it underwent a restoration at a friend's shop who does Restorations for a living. The car was stripped to bare metal and prepped and repainted to a black GSX. As you can see in the photos the paint job is really clean. The paint job alone cost $12,000.
The body was taken off the frame, power washed and all the body mounts were replaced. The front and rear suspension was also replaced with Moog parts. Disc brakes were added to the front. The bumpers have been re-chromed and the n25 exhaust cutouts were added. The motor is .010 over with Fel-Pro Pistons, Cleveland 77 bearings, and a Comp Cam. The heads are machine with hard seeds and the transmission is a turbo 350 that was rebuilt with a mild shift kit. The exhaust is two and a half inch mandrel bent tailpipes with Spintech mufflers.
The interior was never completely finished but is pretty decent as you can see in the pictures. The front bench, headliner and door panels have been replaced and are in good condition. Weather stripping and felt is also in good shape. The rear bench is still original green. Some minor parts are left to be finished. The original radio and air conditioning unit are included but haven't been installed.
This car has never been in an accident. One of the nicest looking Buick Skylarks on the road. Without fail, this car gets compliments every time I take it out for a drive!
