Buick Other 1969 Description

1969 GS California - 455 Stage 1 engine TH400 12 bolt posi ('72 Chevelle) w/3.31 gears. “Body is tagged as 1968”After 33 years I am selling my first car. Purchased in May 1982 I drove this car everywhere and it followed me to the ARMY. When I went to Germany it was stored. But storage was outside and the bottom side started to rust. Restoration started in 1992 and after teardown a soft frame and the entire underside were discovered to be beyond repair. So this is why the body is a ’68. A donor car was located from Florida in 1995 silver 1968 Special Deluxe. Disclosing this up front my body skills required a different body to be used. About 60% of the car is original 1969 parts.Body was removed from the frame. Frame was sandblasted in my driveway and painted with red oxide primer and top coated with semi-gloss black. Next was the stainless fuel line and new brake lines. New rear springs were added. A PST front suspension kit was used. Serviced & installed the 12 bolt Chevelle rear end added KYB shocks. I also got a deal on boxed control arms and sway bar from a 1972 442 along with the power disc brakes.Body - Painted GM Code 55 turquoise mist (original color of my '69). This was done in 1995 (20 year old paint). The body is showing its age (built April 1968). The lower rear quarters have some old (70’s I think) body work that has bubbled and the outer wheel houses need attention in the same area. This is still a presentable car. Send me a PM for a full rundown on the body.Interior - early 1969 bucket seats (side latch no headrest) full length console new carpet April '15 still has the '68 door cards headliner was replaced in 2000 no rips or tears dash is very nice (non-A/C car)Engine - “TR” Stage 1 455 from 1971 came out of a high horsepower Centurian. Block was line bored and lightly honed and new rings installed. Builder felt that the motor only had about 40000 miles on it as there was no ridge in the cylinders. We used the stock Stage 1 cam & heads. New timing set and fully rebuilt front cover/oil pump installed. Carb is a Holley 750 (3310). I also sourced an HEI to replace the points distributor.Transmission - TH400 from a '73 Rivi. Stock trans no kit. Extras - again send a PM for the full list. 1972 GS455 engine (heads were done 10 years ago still in the shop bags) TH400 '68 8.2 rearend (2.56 or 2.73 open) brackets timing covers new Elgin Stage 1 cam. interior parts exterior parts trim a pair of inner fenders '67 430 intake exhaust manifolds................If it's BBB it goes with the car. You are getting 33 years of collecting parts; some are excellent some are very nice and some is usable. But everything goes with the car.
