Buick Roadmaster 1949 Description
Extremely rare 1949 Buick Roadmaster model 76R 2 door hardtop, that needs complete and total restoration. It has not been on the road or run in many years. The 320 cubic inch " Fireball " inline 8 cylinder engine is clean and not stuck, but again, it has not been run in many years. All of the lights worked when I applied 6 volts to the car. It does have a few dents. The worst dent is on the driver side door. The body does have rust issues that are fairly common to this body style. The driver's side floor board is rooted out, but the driver's side rear, and passenger side front/rear floors do not appear to be rotted. The trunk floor seems to be very solid as well as the spare tire well. The is rust on the bottom right side of the trunk lid and on the panel below the trunk lid. There is rust in the passenger side door bottom and rocker panel, and with lesser rust on the driver side. There is rust on both roof sail panels. As with any antique car, there is likely yet to be seen rust. All of the glass will need to be replaced, except for the hard to find 3 piece rear window(it is in great shape). The seats are in shambles and some of the springs have gone bad in them. BUT, overall, this is a very worthy car to restore. I buffed the weathered blue paint. The weathered paint looks so neat as is, that it is tempting to just clear coat over it. The tires are used modern radial whitewall tires I put on the car to make it easy to roll. The emergency brake works fine to stop the car.I'm near the Port of Houston, Texas, so deliver to any overseas shipping company is possible. The car must be trailered.
