Buick Other 1955 Description
This is a 1955 Buick Special. It is an original 264ci manual transmission car. All manual transmission components were sold by prior owner, xcept for the manual transmission steering column. Car now has a running 322 Nailhead from a 1956 Roadmaster and a Dynaflow automatic transmission from a 1957 Roadmaster.Car has newly re-chromed bumpers and some trim pieces. 90% of the trim is included with the car, ome small pieces are missing.
The transmission is bolted to the torque-tube, ut due to the miss-match in years the engine is sitting roughly 1/2'' off from it's mounting position. Re-drilling the motor mounts will solve this issue.
The front suspension was fully taken apart, leaned, ainted, nd reassembled with new shocks and sway bar links. Front brakes have rebuilt wheel cylinders and new shoes. Firewall and frame forward of cab were stripped and painted. The car currently has the front sheet metal removed.
The car has small rust holes in the rocker panels and some larger rust holes in the floor and trunk. Otherwise there is little to no rust in the body.
The interior of the car is in poor condition, ut is mostly complete.
It is a project we no longer have time for. It either needs restoration, r could be used as parts towards someone else's restoration project. The bumpers, rim, nd drivetrain alone equal the price of the reserve of this auction.
The valve covers pictured are not included with the auction. The car is also missing the radiator. With the exception of the radiator and some small trim pieces, he car is complete to my knowledge. It comes with bins of parts not installed along with a 4 barrel intake manifold.
Car has a PA title from 1972 that is not in our name. It is not signed by the former owner.
