Buick Skylark 1972 Description
1972 Buick GS-455 triple black original. With build sheet documenting the cars originality, this is a real GS-455 with its original code 19 Regal Black paint- IT’S NEVER BEEN REPAINTED! According to production numbers only 1099 GS-455 coupes were built in 1972. The black is faded and thin in some areas, and there are some minor dings but the paint, vinyl top, interior, headliner and carpet are all original and all black. There is no rust that I can find, no replacement patch panels and it does NOT appear to have ever been wrecked. The car is originally from the Tulsa, OK. area, purchased new at Chuck Naiman Buick. The 455 engine block is a factory service replacement (no stamping numbers) as the engine was damaged drag racing in the early seventies- verified by the original owner. The original 72 heads are there and currently, the engine runs excellent and currently has an aftermarket Edlebrock B4B intake with the original 800cfm Rochester carb. Has coated headers and the old Stinger ignition from back-in-the-day. The turbo 400 Automatic transmission is original with matching numbers as is the 3.42 posi rear end. This is a factory A/C car which is currently non-working but it’s all there. I can’t prove the cars mileage. It shows 63k but I’ve had enough of these A-bodies to believe it’s probably original. Some notable factory options on the car include: N31 rally steering wheel, N33 tilt wheel, U30 instrument gauges, UG5 rally clock, Y10 custom build-up, N40 power steering, A51 front bucket seats, B93 door edge guards, D35 dual sport mirrors, C60 air conditioning, D55 console, K19 air injector pump (missing) and more. Please note: the previous owner installed the Stage 1 decal on the air cleaner but this is NOT a Stage 1 car. For its age, it’s in great condition, runs and drives very nice and it’s quite rare in that it hasn’t been repainted. To me, the car is the kind of condition that cars were in while I was in high school back in the late seventies and it’s going to be hard to part with. However, my wife and I would like to start building our cabin and that’s why I am selling it. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this listing early.
