Buick Grand National 1986 Description
For sale is my project car which I have owned for 18 years. 1986 Buick Grand National. This vehicle has been always garage kept and driven only once a year. I am a certified automotive mechanic and I took my time restoring and replacing the whole drive train. The only thing the car needs is some cosmetic TLC. There is minor rust at the rear trunk lid along thewing. Interior needs very little minor cosmetic repair. Headliner is sagging a bit in a spot (see pic). Window motors go up and down slow. Front and rear bumper fillers have been replaced with the upgraded fiber glass ones that do not crack. Starting with the rear axle, stock, drive shaft rebuilt with heavy duty u-joints and balanced. Transmission rebuilt with heavy duty torque converter and clutches. Engine fully rebuilt, I kept the stock block but wanted more power, but not too drastic, I rebuilt it with class and taste if you will. This car has never been raced, abused, or mistreated. I have no idea on horsepower as it has never been on a dyno but I promiseyou it gets up and goes, chirps in 3 gears. There is a very minor oil leak that leaves a quarter sized spot every 6 months, I did not want to tear everything back apart for something so minor. Air conditioning and heat are disconnected but can be easily re-installed as I wanted a nice clean look to the motor. The following was installed:
Champion Roller Rockers
Champion Cylinder Heads engraved with GN on them
Hi-Per Rebuilt Kit with Forged Pistons
Rods / Mains / Rings
Head Bolts
Champion Valve Covers also with GN engraving
Valve Seals
Timing Cover
40lbs Fuel Injectors
Special Chip for Computer to advance and retard timing via manual switch
TE44C Turbo Charger
Turbo Oil Feed Line
65mm Plenum Gasket
65mm Throttle Body Gasket
Duttweiler Neck
Exhaust Down Pipe
Torque Strap
All machine work and rebuild was performed at Rebuilt Engines in Delran, New Jersey. I have receipts for all of the above and more. Also have a 2 inch aluminum radiator to keep it running nice and cool along with a bunch of little things like anti-theft collar for steering column, extra ignition coils, emblems, car cover, etc... which I will throw in with the car to the highest bidder. Please email me with any questions. I will work with potential buyer to arrange shipping or whatever needs to be done to deliver the vehicle. Anyone is welcome to check the car out up till the last 24 hours of the auction. I will be happy to pick anyone up at the airport and drop them back off if they would like to see the car or if they buy it and need a ride to the vehicle. No deposit required, if you don't want the car I will relist it as I am confident it is an extremely rare and nice 30 year old vehicle. Cash is preferable, but will accept certified check which must clear before vehicle is delivered. I have this insured as a collector's vehicle and cost $225 per year full coverage. I am sure it can be registered as historic / collector's depending on the State.
