Buick SPECIAL 1954 Description
This auction is for a 1954 Buick Special Riviera 2door hard top. Originally was a show car from this area that I sold to the prior owner seventeen years ago. It has always been stored inside in a heated garage. It does have a few custom touches but nothing that takes away from the beauty of the vehicle. The original running gear was removed and a mid 60's 401 wild cat motor was totally rebuilt and installed. I do have the receipts and pictures. Also installed a 400 turbo auto trans, regular drive shaft, and a newer rear end. Rear leaf springs were incorporated to replace the coils for better stability. The car drives great. Has dual exhaust with throaty mufflers. Car has power steerin, standard brakes, tinted glass, cloth and leather interior combo, electric wipers, after market sterio. Has a pair of dummy spot lights and a pair of antennas frenched into the rear quarter panel for that 50's look. The front venta ports have red lights in each of them that work when you flip the switch. Has a set of Dayton wire spoke wheels with fairly new radial white wall tires. Most of the chrome has been redone and is in very good shape. Rear bumper does have a couple of spots. Paint is very presentable driver quality. It is a deep metalic maroon and white that looks better in person then the pics (camera is getting old) The interior in the car is in very nice condition. The body is nice and solid . Good and straight down both sides. There is some older repair on the floor pans close to the rocker panel edge on both sides. Good and solid and was under coated after. Frame is nice and solid also. the only thing you could fault the car for is there is a slight serging when idoling at a light. I beleive the air and fuel mixture setting could be adjusted on the carb to correct this. Doesn't bother driveing or stepping down on the gas . It just gets up and goes. Also if you pull out the hand choke a hair it doesn't do it. If your looking for a nice clean 50's cruiser that has eye appeal all over the place then this is for you. We have all past receipts for work that was performed on this car . We have a clear Maine registration and proper transfer paper work should you need a title in your state. We require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at the close of the auction and balance to be paid within 3 days of auctions end.
