AMC Gremlin 1974 Description
RELISTED DUE TO NON PAYMENT 1974 amc gremlin-X. THE GOOD. was originally a 304 auto car, now has a fresh1968 amx 390 motor, and borg-warner t-10 four speed transmission, hurst super shifter, power steering, power disc/drum brakes, i believe the rear end ratio to be 3.27, it has a limited slip unit in it. i am not very familiar with amc, but i believe it to their heavy duty rear end equivalent to gm 12 bolt, ford 9" etc... the motor was recently built by a very reputable local machine shop, new pistons, (hypereutectic) compression is around 9.25:1 to keep it pump gas friendly, comp 268h camshaft, double roller chain, long tube headers (they look to be hooker super comps) edelbrock torker intake, edlebrock 750cfm electric choke carb, holley blue fuel pump.. and subframe connectors for rigidity. the car runs and drives well, and as you can imagine, a 390 four speed gremlin is a blast to drive and a handful to say the least. but is not so radical that it can't be an enjoyable cruiser. the car is absolutely mechanically and electrically sound, virtually rust free, there's some bubbling through the lower rear quarters, but that's about it. no floor or structural rust..now, THE BAD the car was in an accident, BUT the damage seems to pretty much be limited to the fender, headlight housing, lower valence, and the headlight bezel of the grille ( it's a 3 piece grille) the core support seems be fine. the damage is COSEMETIC... most of the build is an older job and the car has changed hands a couple of times since. so the full extent of the build and some of the particulars are unknown, and i'm more of a GM person, so i can't readily identify some things at first glance. exception being the motor. when was purchased, it already had the 390, but had a much more radical camshaft, compression was around 10.5:1 which is not great for pump gas on a steel headed motor, and was just not that great of a driver. so the motor was taken down, and completely gone through, very few miles. lost interest after the accident. i do have the grille, and front bumper. with a fairly minimal amount of work you could have an excellent and unique car, despite the damage, this car could not be replicated for anywhere near the asking price. and the amx 390 motor alone is a two year only rarity.
if there any additional pics you need, i will gladly get them, for any questions feel free to contact me, and i will answer them as quickly as i can. do your research, look a the pictures, read the description, ask questions, because you are bidding to BUY this vehicle, not to look at it. and the deposit, is NON REFUNDABLE.
the car has a bonded Mississippi title clear and in my name, it's NOT a salvage, flood, or theft recovery vehicle. be sure to contact your state to see if they accept a MS bonded title, BEFORE bidding, in most states, it's a non issue.
